Talented racer Lucas Orrock has signed for reigning UK Clio Cup champions, JamSport Racing, to contest in the 2017 UK Clio Cup season.
Orrock spent last year competing in Europe where he raced in the Seat Leon Eurocup with Zest RaceCar Engineering before switching to Wolf Power Racing. He was a front running driver in the Seat Leon Eurocup and was runner up in the Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2015. The 26-year-old driver is also a multiple champion in both single karts and gearbox karts.
For the upcoming season, he has made the switch to the UK Clio Cup which he feels is the pinnacle of single make front wheel drive racing within the UK. All eighteen rounds of the championship are taking place as support races to the British Touring Car Championship. This helps to guarantee the teams, drivers and sponsors huge crowds in attendance at the circuits as well as live free-to-air television coverage on ITV4 on Sundays during race weekends.
The 2017 season will begin with a media day at Rockingham Motor Speedway, on Friday 17th March with the opening race weekend of the season taking place at Brands Hatch, on 1st-2nd April.
Orrock took part in his first test with JamSport last week at Snetterton and was immediately on the pace. We’re sure he is looking forward to showcasing in the UK Clio Cup in the hopes of getting a move up into the BTCC in the near future.
