Recently we caught up with Ginetta Junior front runner, Harry King, who will race with Elite Motorsport during the 2017 season.

This year Harry believes he can take the title. Here are the questions we asked him..

How old are you?

I’m 16 Years old

How long have you been involved in Motorsport?

I started racing when I was 8, so 8 years

Who inspired you to become a racing driver?

I wasn’t particularly inspired by anyone to take up Motorsport, it was something I was naturally attracted to, but if there’s one idol it would be my Dad.

What motivates you?

My strive for success to make a living through Motorsport, that’s my ultimate aim.

Which is your favourite circuit and why?

It would have to be Brands Hatch GP because of the exclusivity due to a lack of test days you get around there, very little people get to experience the thrill of it. To race on it that’s just another story. You’re flat out through the entire back section!

Do you undergo any preparation prior to the race weekend?

Not particularly, maintaining my focus on a weekend is important and once the lights go out you’ve got to be ready for anything, after all it is Ginetta Juniors.

Which other Championships have you competed in?

I competed in the SuperOne Karting in Cadets but it wasn’t an enjoyable experience due to the large amounts of testing other teams did, that’s why Ginetta is fantastic as testing is limited. Aside from that I did one year in the MiniMax at Whilton Mill then made the move to cars.

How would you describe your driving style?

Smooth

What do your fans mean to you?

Everything, but most importantly the unconditional support for every weekend racing.

What is your dream race car?

Right now in the modern era would be the Porsche 911 RSR 2017. In the past era it would be the F1 2003 Renault.

What is your dream road car?

Lamborghini Huracan

Where do you see yourself in the future – tin tops or single seaters?

I hope to remain with the Ginetta series for as long as possible but the top for me would be in world endurance series in the GT-Pro category.

What are your goals for the coming season?

To win the championship.

Who has been your favourite driver to race against so far in your career?

Lewis Brown – respectful and sensible driver.
